2014 Impact:

Throughout the year, our community center provides an Afterschool  Enrichment Program. We provide meals for most of the children in the neighborhood and access to a food pantry for families in need. Staff and occasional interns provide assistance with homework. Some of our more specific recent successes include:

Youth Debate Program- 15 youth served

Summer Food Program -2800 meals

·         Updated Computer Lab

·         Afterschool Program- 2500 meals/snacks

·         Bread & Pastry Mondays- 36 families

·         Thanksgiving Baskets -30 families served

  • We provided school supplies for 38 children
  • We served 75 snacks weekly after school to children in community
  • We provided dinner daily for the 22 students enrolled in the Afterschool Program
  • WDM helped students improve grades and attendance by providing resources needed to complete homework assignments
  • We served 80 families for Thanksgiving
  • We served 319 children for Christmas (83 families)
  • Through our Job Readiness Program we assisted 25 participants with job search and resume writing; yielding 5 employed clients
  • Through our Summer Food Program we served over 3500 meals (breakfast & lunch)
  • Over 300 Volunteer hours donated
